This interview was conducted with Karen Forcier, president of Norwich Archery Club.
Here in Conn. the various clubs throughout the state hold 3d shoots every weekend. A schedule book is published every year and we try to get the schedule books to the local shops as well.
At the Norwich Archery Club we are hosting a Hunter Challenge which will take the 3d shoot to the next level of competition. We are trying to bring back the people who have gotten bored with the normal 3d's by having a competition within the competition.
Norwich Archery Club is also hosting another IBO shoot for 2010.
Recruitment of members is usually by word of mouth.
Hopefully still alive. But for that to happen we need to get younger people involved. Maybe through school athletic programs?? boy and girl scouts, YMCA programs
By being the person that passes on the excitment of archery when talking to friends and neighbors.
Here in Conn. we have a strong White Tail and Turkey population
We have only been hunting for a couple of years and have very limited time to be out there. For us hunting is more about being out in the woods, listening and watching nature in all of her beauty. We're still waiting for that ultimate high of our first harvest, we're always hopeful when we go, that today will be the day!
I shoot recurve and I'm looking for a longbow.
We make arrows for traditional archers as well as crossbow bolts for the SCA gang.
